Lightweight mocap built for animation

BaSix Go is a lightweight motion capture program that allows you to select your animated character, equip our BaSix active markers, and then stream live animation data directly to your animation package. This can all be done in under a minute, without the use of a mocap suit.

While many optical motion capture systems contain features that allow for a range of mocap applications, Basix Go is specifically designed with animation studios, game developers, and previsualization in mind.

BaSix Go simplifies and speeds up the animation and previz process. Setup and calibration of the system are quick, and the software is extremely easy to learn and use.

Why BaSix© Go?

All data collections are fully compatible with Cortex, allowing you to load, process and save data using the most powerful mocap software in the industry.

  • A simple, intuitive user interface

  • Ability to immerse subjects within minutes

  • Only requires the use of six BaSix active markers per subject

  • A single BaSix active marker can be used to track a prop

  • Compatible with all Motion Analysis motion capture cameras

  • Compatible with all major animation packages, including Maya, Motion Builder, Unreal and Unity

  • FBX skinning is supported

Suitless markers fitted in under 60 seconds

BaSix is our suitless full-body active marker system. Traditional motion capture marker systems require a suit or multiple markers to be precisely applied to the subject. This can take time to set up properly and may restrict the subject from moving naturally. BaSix motion capture markers use six active markers on key points; easily secured using comfortable gloves, a visor, a belt, and foot straps, respectively. Marking subjects is extremely fast and efficient.

Mocap made easy

Differentiate your studio by creating realistic, high-quality 3D characters quickly and easily. The markers’ design is simple yet robust. They’re self-contained units, so they don’t require a base station. With their long battery life, each marker can typically perform all day on a single charge.

Movement analysis with more freedom

Movement analysis with more freedom

Actors can move more freely, providing less restricted movement. BaSix rigs are configurable LED arrays that the subject can put on in under 60 seconds. Whether you’re using motion tracking for video game development or to measure sports performance, BaSix motion capture markers will allow you to track your subjects’ natural movement accurately.

Robust, cutting-edge technology

BaSix motion capture markers use six active markers on key points of the body at the tops of each hand, the top of the head, the rear waist, and the tops of both feet. These are secured using comfortable accessories, such as gloves, a visor, a belt, and foot straps, respectively.

All tracking is done optically. The LEDs are recessed, protecting them from any potential damage. BaSix systems include:

  • Cortex 8
  • One Kestrel camera system
  • One set of BaSix markers
  • One year of support
Robust, cutting-edge technology

Key features

BaSix active markers can be used in addition to passive markers and can be used with older editions of Cortex. You can create your prop using the standard prop creation tools. To use the integrated prop solver, you will need Cortex 8 or later.

  • Six simple rigs

  • Six degrees of freedom each

  • No mocap suit required

  • World’s most powerful skeleton solver

  • Built-in 22 segment skeleton

  • Remap to your custom character

Cortex 8: our most advanced mocap software yet

At Motion Analysis, we continually develop new ways to make motion capture and tracking more efficient. Cortex 8, the latest edition of our internationally recognized mocap software, is designed to work with BaSix for a more streamlined and easier-to-use solution.
