Full Body Gait Analysis

Cortex motion capture software provides professionals in the medical and sports performance industries an easy, streamlined way to perform full body gait analysis. Cortex has embedded software solutions for gait analysis: GaitTrak and RunTrak. These are both available for an additional fee. Our specialized solutions compute and report the primary biomechanical parameters used during walking or running. Our gait analysis software has an intuitive interface that makes gait easy to track and measure. For over 35 years, Motion Analysis has been on the cutting edge of motion capture technology and innovation. Our industry gold-standard software will significantly improve your efficiency and productivity in any motion capture application.

What is Gait Analysis?

Gait analysis is the study of a subject’s movement patterns while running or walking. It can be conducted on the lower extremities only, or on the entire body. Full body gait analysis looks at the interaction between the whole body. With many applications, it’s important to consider the mechanics of the hips and trunk, as they play a vital role in controlling the mechanics of the hips and trunk. In medical settings, this may be used to evaluate how the movements in one area of the body may contribute to overworking the tissues in another area of the body. This information can then be used to diagnose conditions and create treatment plans. Full body gait analysis can also be used to identify inefficiencies in an athlete’s form or to determine the cause of an athlete’s injuries. Whether you plan to use gait analysis software for medical, athletic, or other purposes, you’ll find that Cortex is robust enough to meet the needs of any application. GaitTrak streamlines gait analysis by generating a simplified gait measurement report using Microsoft Excel templates. Cortex can also be upgraded to include BattingTrak and PitchTrak, an integrated software which tracks and measures an athlete’s batting and pitching movements, respectively. These applications allow for easy evaluation of technique, or to compare one player’s biomechanics with another. In addition to Cortex, we also offer low-latency, highly accurate digital motion capture cameras, and mocap markers. Basix, our latest markers, are configurable LED arrays that don’t require the use of a suit. There are only six markers, which are worn on key parts of the body: the tops of each hand, the top of the head, the waist, and the tops of both feet. This allows athletes to move more freely, and they have the added benefit of being equipped in less than a minute.
