Motion Analysis is excited to announce the release of Cortex 8, the most advanced and accurate motion capture and editing software available. Our newest release of Cortex has been designed to work with BaSix, our new full-body suitless motion capture markers. Whether you use motion capture technology for video game production or for research, the latest edition of Cortex is designed to be more streamlined and easier to use. Contact us today to order your system before promotional pricing ends on December 31, 2019.
Our Cortex software is used internationally for a variety of applications, including:
- Animation - movies, video game production, broadcasting
- Broadcast - live virtual reality and augmented reality sets
- Industrial - ergonomics, military training, simulation
- Movement measurement - sports, biomechanics, clinical gait, research, education
The initial setup, calibrations, tracking, post-processing, and object tracking are all handled within the software. Cortex can accurately solve skeletons of any structure with any number of segments. This includes facial animation. All the solving data is stored within the markerset. It requires only a few seconds to adjust during daily setup, making it easy to retarget as needed.
Cortex 8 contains several key features and updates that will make the motion capture and editing process more efficient. We've added a feature that allows you to merge forces across force plates. When a person walks across a set of force plates, itâs not uncommon to have their foot land near two neighboring plates. This can cause a splitting of the measurement of the force between the two plates. With this new feature, you can now merge the two to report a single force.
We've added asynchronous device data (ADD) graphs as a display, which allow for easy selection of ADD data channels. This display option can display all the samples for a given input, as opposed to the presentation graphs which display data on a per-frame basis. We've completely revamped the way that 3rd party devices interact and integrate with Cortex. Golden templates with predefined markersets are included within Cortex 8 and are ready to use with no editing required. Another addition is the "Analyze Template" feature. This feature checks to see if a model pose fits within a template and lets you know if the template is corrupted. These are just a few of the new features that are available in the latest version of Cortex!
